Dawn Raid: Northern Alliance vs The Herd Battle Report

Turn 6: Northern Alliance.
The Solitary wound on the Ice Kin hunters was enough to prevent them from disengaging and peppering either Chieftain with arrows. They could only countercharge,
The Dwarfs sidled 2" sideways to stay out of line of sight of the Longhorns and prevent a charge, but forgot that the Longhorns merely need to stand next to them and contest the objective, to negate their ownership of it.
Nothing could deny the Human Clansmen horde from claiming the western objective however, . They Pivoted to put the edge of the battlefield behind them, and a woods in their front, and swivelled to sit right on top of the objective.
The bolt thrower managed one wound on the Longhorns.
The Thegn and Barbarian pursued the Cheiftain in the chariot, although the barracade would hinder them both.
The Wolves attacked the Spearmen while the regiment of Clansmen opted to take their anger out on the Druid and his fireball spells, even if they had to climb over the Tavern wall to get at him.
They managed 2 wounds and wavered the Gladewalker druid…
The wolves managed 2 more wounds on the phalanx of spears, bringing them to 11 and rolled 4, wavering them also.
The Ice Kin Hunters managed 2 wounds on the Great Cheiftain bringing him to 5, and again, wavered him.!
The Thegn’s fox did an additional ankle wound on the Minotaurs Chariot. and surprisingly, Orlaf only managed the same. but that brought the Cheiftain to 15 wounds and was routed

game ended.
A signoficant victory to the Northern Alliance who had captured 3 of the possible 7 objectives to 0 for the Herd.
In hindsight, the battlefield was probably too encumbered, i’d been concerned that the Herd Pathfinder heavy units would dominate, but because of the many walls, they nearly alwayss lost their Thunderous charge, likewise once disordered, wheras the Northern Alliance kept their Crushing Strength throughout.
