Noob question on unit size

With both my armies I made everything in troops up to the first 2000 points, and after that I felt secure that I had enough flex to change the list if I needed to, and started to build regiment bases and even a horde. It was fun, but would hate to be stuck with only a horde and no option to change it up.

i’d agree @FredOslow . all my armies have at least one horde, but they also have Troops, and regiments too. options for all occasions.

I like that!!

A legion of Northern Alliance could be overkill. Maybe a legion of Elf Clansmen, but the other core units are powerful enough at a horde.
However, my Orcs have a legion of Ax and they have a few others, but being heavy infantry or chariots, they tend to have a very large footprint
My Goblins have a legion of Rabble, and another of Spitters,
My herd doesn’t get the option

I’d suggest using cardboard for the footprints. I found them easier to use than paper.
