Thx for the summary and one addition that might be worth looking into and this is model releases
As seeing the more popular factions are also those that had a new model release over the past year (mantic and non-mantic) while the less popular ones are also those without models (like Herd)
Good idea. Do you have any way to quantify that? Is there a list of when lines were last refreshed? Anecdotally I have a handle on the past year or two, but if we had that data for all the factions it would be helpful.
I can get an overview once I am back home after the weekend
Proud to be the lone Free Dwarf this year (and I would have been the lone Herd otherwise ) The rise of Northern Alliance does give me pause, it’s a really hard match up for my rock-heavy Frorfs, being frozen and often windblasted too is the worst.
Thanks, kodos. I’ll take a look and see what I can pull together. In the meantime:
And a post-tourney recap for you–
Cheers mate. That is a really interesting read.
With both ogres and TK i really think you have to know what you are doing to get the best out of a potential strong list.
The former will generally lack numbers (although scoring/inspiring heroes pretty much throughout help!) but a lot of the killing power will be in a handful of units. Lose those or get them tied up is an issue. Flyers can really be an ogre player’s nightmare - as it definitely it with newer/less experienced players - which may go towards explaining the big difference in results?
TK need practise! Synergy based and all about finding the way to make things work. Know plenty of players building TK armies who haven’t taken them to events yet, as they can’t get the best out of them.
As FYI, in UK events TK, SK and Undead are currently best ranked (ogres 18th); most played NA, Dwarfs and Ogres
Excellent work and a very interesting read! Thanks for sharing!
