4e fly rules

Do the same core movement principles apply to fly ?.

If a unit with fly advances it can complete 2 up to 90 degrees pivots with its movement

If a unit with fly at the doubles it can make 1 90 degree pivot within the move

Also if a unit has fly and shambling the restriction on pivots applies to the flying unit as it would a none flying’s one .

Do flying units still like other units need to travel in a straight line ?

I play them as exactly the same rules as non flyers with the obvious exception that they can clear terrain/ units so long as they have the movement, but they cannot be simply picked up then place anywhere within range .

Thank you

Yes - ‘normal’ movement rules apply to fliers unless otherwise stated.

Fliers can finish a pivot over units/blocking terrain, unlike others, but must finish the complete move clear.
