Pretty sure someone has seen it, question is more if someone is allowed to talk about what they have seen
Someone could have asked and done a podcast on it - so not a tightly held secret
I, for one, am very curious about the Kingdoms of Men army. It’s been my fallback army since KoW 1st edition and I hold warm feelings for a regular guy with a pike or musket facing off agains the horrors of Mantica!
Kingdoms of Men could have used some love, both in IP and on the game board in 3.5, (though the pike upgrade was good for them) so it’s a pity that so little is known about them in the previews of 4th.
That said, their purpose was always to be generic, so players could fill it in as they want. I would not want to lose that either!
No (like most others), but I’m definitely interested to see how the list shapes out.
There’s potentially two other theme lists being rolled into this one (Herd & Order of Green Lady), not to mention the units they loaned from the Trident Realms and Salamanders - will they stay? Or will they go to make room for units from the theme lists?
Salamanders and Naids were removed from FoN.
Because every other removal was also mentioned in the previews, I would say they are no longer part of FoN.
So there’s a pre-release day happening at Mantic HQ today (Saturday). You think there’s any chance we’ll get some more info on the other army lists?
From people who have got the book:
Palace Guard are cs1, de5 and are Core (as are stormwind) for elves
Brothermark rolled into Basilea - really just unit upgrades now.
KoM & Rhordia combine. Lose peg wizards, general on winged beast (warlord) gains 2 attacks but nerve drops slightly; polearm troops are back (70pts compared to 90pts for the regiment)
I’m very curious as to what Commands the elves will get. Maybe something that gives you +1 to hit if you have been given an advance order (to replace steady aim).
Which day will it be?
17th December for the Companion
That’s when we will all try to log on and will crash the server. Next day it might be available.
Some tidbits from the Dwarf Facebook group;
- Steel Juggernaughts are Support, not Command.
- Faber Ironheart (the Steel Jugg Hero) is a Warlord.
- Flamebelchers are 115pts and Sh 4, meaning they’ll hit on 3’s when standing still.
- Dwarf Lord on Large Beast has CS2 (formerly CS1).
People have started getting their books, so hopefully more will be coming out very shortly!
Any brave soul with access to the book prepared to comment on the FoN units we haven’t seen yet?
Hopefully not! I’ve just signed up for the KoW Silver tier.
Last time round, I submitted several corrections where the companion differed from the rulebook. They were adjusted pretty quickly.
True, they respond quite fast.
Plus as v4 is effectively a brand new game, Elliot will hopefully have had plenty of time to ensure that everything matches between the new books and the Companion.
Issue will come when people find the inevitable errors/discrepancies in the rules themselves.

As I’ve seen more preview, the orc commands look quite strong.
Their Orders are Okay in my opinion. They get Throwing Cats which are 12” shots x6 on 3s? (iIRC). Also they get to make a Kindred unit (Palace guard, tall spears, a few others) Headstrong and Self Inspiring.
The second one feels cool and maybe is there to make up for Elven Archmages still not being Inspiring (despite only being 10 pts cheaper than TK Crones). Princes at least Inspire now.
So since the commands happen in the move phase a unit could use the cats then charge? Or even shoot?
