How are the abyssal dwarf models to work with, compared to the more recent hard plastic and updated ranges - are they a pain, or relatively pleasant to glue/assemble?

It wouldn’t stop me collecting them, but I’m just curious. I hear some very negative things about older ranges (Basilea).

So the hard plastic infantry date from 2020 and are pretty good - there is a review of the kit here:

The two handed weapons referenced in the article are available through the Vault and are way better than the metal ones.

Some of the older models in the range lack a bit imo - the pvc halfbreeds aren’t great (as with much of the mantic cavalry models) but some head/arm swaps from plastic set can help (or with more work a whole torso switch). Immortals and berserkers are still metal, but you can easily make the former out of the blacksouls.

The pvc golems are ok - need a bit of clean up work and are a bit monopose without converting arms.

The Grotesques are nice, but single pose each without fairly extensive conversion work (there is a review of them on the site linked), but are available in the vault, so convertible if you know what you are doing with stls (not me!), but i am picking up a mirrored set later in the week.

More stuff built - blacksouls, dogs & brewing rebellion

For the sensible ones who can’t be a*sed trawling through 100 posts for the previously supplief info(!) the blacksouls are oathmark heavy dwarfs with the arms from the mantic kit, the berserkers mantic goblin bodies with oathmark heavy arms and heads (the OM kit comescwith loads of spares).

More Immortals build - the vault 2hw upgrade is so much better than anything in metal/resin.

Slave orc infantry next up - mix of mantic and warlord erehwon orcs, weapon arms from the mantic goblins and the metal shields from the gore rider kit
