While shooting at the ship with Arkhanten any to-hit rolls of a natural 1 will inflict their normal damage on the shooting ship as the weapons misfire (so no bonus for point blank or raking fire for example)

I’m not clear how to interpret the section in the bracket. If my EOD ship carrying Arkhanten is target ted by a vessel at point blank range and they fire 2 shots. One misses with a 1 and the other hits. The miss causes damage to the shooting ship, that is clear.

Does the successful shot lose the point blank bonus? That would be my interpretation.

Yeah so it only suffers the amount of damage indicated by the dice colours, no extra additions/multipliers to damage that the shot would normally have done because of proximity/position, if that makes sense.
