Campaign Theory Crafting

Hello, fellow Wargamers,

i have a question for you: What do you think is for a grupe of beer and brezel gamers the more enjoyable type of a map campaign?

I am torn beween the two itteration of Mighty Empires. On the one hand, we have 1990 with its Armyplacemant, Baggage and Scouting. It takes some time, but gives you a extendet Command. On the other side we have 2007. Here we have the Challenging (meaning no downtime) but loosing a lot of depth…

There are some similiar systems like “By the Sword - The Campaign for Marnon” for Warmaster Ancient, The Oatmark-Sysem or the Borderprinces campagin but in the end there is allway the question: Armyplacement & downtime or direct Battles & simplification…

Maybe some of you have some more ideas? My preference are:

-One Army per player

-(Hex-)map

-6 Player FFA
