The blue unit is in trouble. It is already engaged with units A and B and now unit C wants to join in. Do units B and C slide over to make room for C?
If they all charged at the same time it would not be a problem but we were not clear what happens in this case.
A & B declare Reform orders and C declares a Charge.
“A Reform! order can be combined with other friendly units’ normal charge, or Reform!, against the same enemies, even against the same or different facings of the target (to a maximum of two friendly units against each facing of each enemy unit, of course). Follow the same rules for multiple charges given on page 20, including the two moving units sliding sideways to be as central or overlapping as equally as possible.”

That is exactly what we missed, thanks!

It would be interesting to know whether all units are allowed to reform, even if it is not necessary.
In this example, it might be sufficient for only one unit to reform, and the charging unit could then already make contact.

Yeah, I was wondering about this. E.g. two infantry regiments are engaged and so there is no spare frontage for another, taller unit to charge. Can the engaged unit reform so that the other unit can charge?

Charging, multicharging and in combination with Reform is now just really flexible. Since you don’t get blocked by the units you are charging/reforming with only terrain or enemy units will really effect how you end up - otherwise it’s your choice.
In the OP pic, in an open field it would be the chargers choice whether they wanted A & C to shuffle as near to the middle as possible (in which case B would move left), or leave B centred and then A would shift up to give C room at ‘the bottom’ of the flank.

The other unit is still allowed to declare a reform regardless whether or not it’s necessary. But if it didn’t need to it could also choose not to reform, which could then set unit A up for a wrap around should the enemy still survive next turn (or push them over into a scoring position, lots of uses).
