My first test model for a prospective Ogre army. Its looking good so far, but I might paint a second one and see if I can refine it a little…

Yesssss I love Kings of Warmachine armies, especially if you’re at the helm

2 troops or 1 regiment of Human Clansmen plus a troop of Pack hunters with javelins and a lord/thegn/skald with a scroll
These units are all painted as a whole unit, on it’s base, rather than individually, but i did split the Clansmen into two troop units for painting, to cover as much on the models as i could

They look great @Nav ! Quite a force you’ve got there already, can’ wait to see how it grows! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks @Mikes, once the final touch ups are done, i’ll move them over to my NA army post. This latest army set will boost the previous units. I also got a Clarion and a Cavern Dweller yesterday, which will add to my choices when fielding an army. i think the only things i am missing now are Pack with bows Clansmen with two handed weapons and Lord on Chimera and Ice Kin Master hunter and Ice blade.

A few cracks that had to be patched over with the Cavern Dweller but the Clarion fitted together nicely

Those scorpions look great and good idea using them as chariots.
I was pleadantly surprised with that giant scorpion kit.

I’m using one as a dread-fiend.

Yeah, they aren’t bad. Have a variety of schliech/papo ones to use as the regiments - plus can double up as fight wagons in RFO list

I like where that tree herder is going!
If the rest gets done like your drakons it will look lovely.

Thanks @DarkBlack ! Hope I can do the expectations justice
In any case I kinda do like the model. He’s not the typical “Treebeard” style miniature that often gets used for Treeherders (like the one I painted myself already too ) and has a kind of “Who wants some!?” look.

I also found that the details on the mini fit in very well with the details on the Mantic Shambler models, which he’ll likely stand right next to on the battlefield. Finally, he’s quite massive, but also pretty compact on his base and should fit just fine next to my other regiments on the table, when multicharging.

I do like the Mantic miniature as well and will paint him eventually too (maybe as the Wiltfather in a Sylvan Kin variation of my army), but I’ll probably use this Reaper model for regular Treeherders, especially when fielding multiple ones, because they fit much better base to base with other units … also, if I’m being mugged … i can probably use it as a weapon … it’s full metal and probably the heaviest miniature I ever painted. (Think it weighs even more than the Red Dragon I painted! :astonished: )

I do hope I can get the (pretty large) eyes right, to kind of match the muted blue glow effect I’ve got on my forest shamblers … if that doesn’t work out I’ll probably throw my hands up in frustration … and get right on painting the Mantic Tree Herder after all - which only got dark holes for eyes. :joy:
