Empire of Dust, 6 month project finished

Hi!

Finally finish (well, still have plans to add this or that) my Ambush force. Decided on classic turquoise colours with some green “surge” energy additions. More close-ups soon.

Looks brilliant! What do you field the Phoenix as?

This is an Undead Wyrm. Animated (green energy) dead raven-ish thing.

Great looking force, wonderful cool pallet, metals included. The Undead Raven is a superb center piece (and obviously very heavy hitter in game) :green_heart:

Thanks. Undead Phoenix came out nicely. I like his Black/Red winda and belly but I wonder if there is a good way to make a transition to green.

I think the stark contrast looks terrific, but the only easy way to transition would be via a tertiary shared colour like a violet that you could shade the red down to and then fade up into the green. It probably wouldn’t be too much of a pain with an airbrush, but it’s still a ton of work. The hard colour shift works in your favour here

Thanks! It really like how It looks up close.

I was thinking about some gentle white via aitbrush. But I used no aitbrush in this army do I might leave it as It is.

Nice! Great character for EOD. And I’m thrilled the Vault has them this month, time was I was going to do a very dumb wyrm heavy EOD but balked at the price …

Someone mentioned in the latest Counter Charge podcast that there are no Mantic cavalry archers.

I was so shocked that someone missed using infantry army to build mounted archers than decided to take last 3 models I had left to build a troop for my mounted recon force.

Those work perfectly. Very dynamic. I will take less than 5 per troop to represent that it is a light formation relying on speed and manoeuvre than mass and impetus charges.

Yeah, that’s…literally the intended way to build that unit. :stuck_out_tongue: Weird that they missed it.
