Hi Everyone,
I ve been publishing for some time a Kings of War ELO ranking page for tournament players across Europe, it is available here and updated monthly : https://www.kingsofwarmasters.fr/elo
The ranking focuses on Europe (including the UK) only, because there is enough cross-play between countries and events to make the ratings relevant.
How does it work?
Stolen Inspired by chess, the principles are:
- Everyone starts with a base rating
- When you play against a higher rated player, you get a lot of points for a win, lose little for a loss
- When you play against a lower rated player, you get a little bit of points for a win, lose a lot for a loss
- When you win/lose against someone of your rating, you win/lose a medium number of points.
- You get an official published rating only after at least 15 recorded tournament games
So the rating adjusts naturally depending on opponent strength, not just “how many wins”
What is the goal?
This is not meant to pressure anyone or create fear of playing ranked games.
The aim is simply to provide a fun “meta indicator”, to motivate players and show progression over time.
Even if you lose games, the system is designed to reflect improvement and consistency rather than punish players.
Updates
I updates the rankings monthly (beginning of the month and the ranking is valid for the whole month), and I’ll post the updates in this thread.
Feedback welcome
If you spot missing events, duplicated players, wrong spellings, or have ideas to improve the system, feel free to reply here .
I hope you enjoy it!
