Forces of the Abyss...redux (Slow Grow Challenge)

Prophet Gaille - Will of the Celestians.

Guided by her visions of a Holy mission given to her by the Celestians, Sister Gaille assembled The Flock, her Warband of loyal followers, and led them on a holy pilgrimage east toward the Abyss. Gaille’s unwavering dedication was rewarded with nothing less than Apotheosis. Together with the surviving, most fanatical members of her Flock, she now leads an army of Celestial Warriors in service to her new Gods.

Seductress is finished. Actually she was finished a week ago - it just took me this long to post her up here. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve also been writing some background for the army and it’s heroes, the first of which is above. It’s been a fun process and helps add alot of character to the project, even if nobody will care about my “fan-fic” more than me. :wink:

For now though, I’m partway through my next unit - Succubi.

Definitely - The Zombie horde is a dream army of mine so I’d love to face yours! :smiley:

Anyway, here’s a Succubi unit;

I initially planned to paint this unit in three batches - the Sister plus two test Succubi, followed by another 9x and finally, whatever I needed to finish filling out the regiment base. However it turns out that the initial 12x models was all I could fit on the multibase anyway. So these got done a bit early!

With the Succubi done, here’s how the army is looking at 1600pts;

…and here’s what I’m aiming for;

That’s a just Warlock, Despoiler, Horsemen, Molochs and a Lower Abyssal Regiment to go. The Despoiler needs more work but after that, it’s really just the Horsemen unit that I’m missing models for.

I was waiting to see if the Horsemen get new sculpts with the Fracture book, but it’s not looking that way. So instead, I’m sticking with the Hellequin sculpts. I already have 3x and am getting more printed. But I’m reliant on a friend to get that done and unfortunately, it’s a slow process.

In any case, it’s nice to see how far the army has come, and how close it is to completion!
