Hello all.
Facebook, after years of me using it, is out of favour for me right now. I use it for scouting for events though. UK people, do you still find, finding events ok without it? Where do you look to book onto events?
Thanks.

Funnily enough, I’ve done pretty much the same thing (especially since Fanatics turned into such a cesspit)
Most UK events get listed here: https://kowmasters.com/, so you should be able to keep track of what’s happening.
But it can be tricky to get the details as a lot of TOs still use a Facebook events page as the only repository of links/information.
We clearly just need to get more people using the forum!
100% get people moved to here.
I don’t use fb any longer.
I’d be delighted if everyone got off Facebook. Loads of the cool hobby discussion went on there, and I refuse to follow. All the old fora are on life support because of it.
If only I could get all my family, friends and colleagues off whatsapp too.
The Companion has events listed, as does the KoW Masters site referenced about.
Off the top of my head can’t recall if the KoW discord channel has an events section?
I have also had to use Facebook to identify events and I also detest it. Not helpful but just adding that you’re not alone
What I have done with my annual large event is to host it here on the forum as the “main info page” - and I supplement that with an event on FB but the event just references back to here. It’s not a perfect solution but at least it weens people just a little off it.
I imagine the problem is larger for small events or ad hoc events where you might not have enough time to refer people to an external website for the event info.
