Mindthirst and withdrawing

Hi all, first post here so hoping this gets more traction than facebook…

Can Mantic please clarify if Mindthirst is supposed to work when failing a withdraw check? Mindthirst states when in Mindthirst range “your opponent must reroll the result” but of course your opponent doesnt roll your wirhdraw checks.

It can be read as either Mindthirst doesnt work on withdrawing because your opponent doesnt roll the dice, or it can be taken more literally and when you fail a withdraw check you give your dice to your opponent to reroll, in your turn!

Help please?

Like a number of other rules, Mindthirst has been copied word for word from 3rd and doesn’t deal with all the changes in 4th (doppelgangers, total charge blocking etc).

Since Inspiring, Dread and Iron Resolve apply to the Nerve test when Withdrawing, there is no justifiable reason why Mindthirst doesn’t (since it is really just NS ‘Inspiring’), notwithstanding the reference to the opponent rerolling.

The Crystal Pendant activates if you fail and you, rather than your opponent, rolls the damage despite the wording.

Agree with Sceleris, the FAQ says Inspiring works for Withdrawing and Mindthirst=Inspiring for Nightstalkers so it should work.

Yeah I agree it should work for withdrawing, but I’m hoping Mantic will chime in here and fix it

It does work, just like normal (just a different person re-rolling the dice).
