So, in looking at listings, some army sets list the Ogre Warriors as plastic with metal arms, while other list them as just plastic. Was there an update at some point to these models? And if so, which are preferable?

The ogres I have (and all I’ve seen) are plastic. PVC, not HIPS.
The plastic + metal hibrids are the musician, maybe standard bearer,…

In the set of orges I have, the musician arms + instrument are metal, the standard bearer’s arms, flag and buckler are metal and there was a metal left hand + sword (plastic swords are righthanded).
Everything else was indeed plastic.
