I have started a Goblin blaster, made from a 3D printed cart and large barrel, some “modern” terrain I got in a crazy box once, a rabble with the weapons removed and arms positioned appropriately, a goblin sniper with the rifle turned into dynamite and a maw pup. Quite happy with the modelling, needs painting now though!

Word of caution, though, better start building a couple more right away. As soon as you got one, you want three.

With regards to the terrain, was the water just paint & varnish or did you use water effect stuff?
Black undercoat.
Cheap accryllic paint black
all but the “deepest” part cheap acryllic navy blue
covering with 60% azure ink/20% black ink/20% water. Let it dry.
Finalise with gloss varnish / 20% azure ink.
