Secret for fixing spears?

A spear snapped at the hand. It’s too thin to drill and pin. Any tricks to reattach it?

Replacing the full shaft with a copper wire (0,8mm) and only attaching the top of the old spear

What material?

Replacing the shaft is a good call.

Alternatively, drill into the hand with a bigger drill bit (slightly wider than the spear) to sink the spear into the jand and give it more contact.

Printed resin so somewhat fragile

I’m not used to fixing that, I’m afraid.
I don’t have a better idea than already given.

If it’s particularly brittle then replacing the spears is probably worthwhile.
Copper rod is good.
A cheaper and durable option is getting a heavy duty outdoor broom from a hardware store and using the brisles.
It’s tough and bends rather than breaking.

The old generation used to use wire then squeeze the end to flattern it and cut it into a point. Some also used needles but thats a bit lethal…
