Slow Grow Challenge - Abyssal Dwarfs

A 3d printers I’ve used before had a sale on and as I’ve only got one Greater Obsidian Golem in the whole AD collection, I fancied another one

Last of the slowgrow models underway .

Nice miniature. Would do it as an alternative Chroneas for me.

I used chroneas as an alternative GOG/Infernok in the first half of the army!

I like the scheme in general and I like that you painted both of them like that. Although from completely different ranges they look like they belong together.

Did you mention how you paint the green?

Yeah, and they tie in nicely with the lesser golems as well.

It’s basically GW warp lightning contrast over white. For the larger flame areas there’s a bit of extra drybrushing with various yellows before/after the contrast paint.

Extension of the slowgrow means I can get a few extra odds and sods done for it. Next up some themed objective markers.

WiP slave tunnel runners. The big boy will get a skaven grey seer rider (having pinched his bell for one of the above objective markers and the rest of the kit as a helfane!).

Last (definitely!) bits box raid for more random stuff to use has found some mantic ghouls - which will be another ‘ratkin’ slave unit along with dogs & handlers.

More ‘Ratkin’ slaves done.

Slowgrow AD is now complete. It finished with 10 troop units, 22 regiments, 5 monsters/war engines and 10 heroes. It’s about 6500pts! Group pics to follow.

Wow. This army looks amazing. Thank you for posting and well done on getting so much done in such a short time. Truly impressive and very inspiring for my own Abyssal Dwarf efforts.
