I’m gonna have a go at this.
The special dice, are they the same as Vanguard dice?

Different colours, but same amount of symbols. So, nothing is preventing you from using your Vanguard dice, you just have to ‘translate’ the colours.
Colour code from worst to best as follows: black, orange, green

I don’t have the Vanguard dice at hand to compare, I think red (black), white (orange), blue (green).
