WGA Werewolves Review

While they’re quite short to be Lycans or Werewolves in KOW, I do think these furry lads have play as Spirit Walkers or Tribal Warriors or other infantry-sized feral troops. Regardless, here’s a good review of the new kit:

a lot of people on FB and various forums complained about the size, mostly due to the difficulty of using them as cheap proxies for various fantasy games where werewolves are depicted as these massive beasts. but the WGA set was meant to be more the classic ‘person who turned into a wolf’ folklore and movie creature, so they were scaled to the size of the normal human figures that would be opposing them in most games.

ironically, the biggest complaint on the WGA forum was that they didn’t include any normal wolves on the sprue, which a lot of people wanted for skirmish games, so they could depict the werewolf shifting forms by replacing the figure, or just give the werewolves some canine allies. honestly i kinda agree, especially since most games are going to make a lot more use of say, 10 werewolves and 20 wolves a lot easier than just 20 werewolves.

as far as single sprue sales. mcdougal designs ( mcdougalldesigns3d.com ) sell single sprues of them for $6, for american buyers.

I like them and will pick up some in due course.

As you say they’ll fit nicely in a variety of roles - hunters of the wild or reavers in a a norse/viking vibe varangur army.

Kit also has a decent amount of spares which would fit with a lot of other models
