Yeah, it is, but you only need a few for your crew and some enemies (like with Frostgrave), so I have more than enough miniatures for it. 
Starting out with StarSaga, than go with the Mazon Lab and Rebs (for the Mercenary Team) into Deadzone, add some Vehicles/Tanks and Warpath is not far away
the games are more or less designed that way that if you want to play with a larger collection from the smallest one, just make the next step
