Not done much on the actual gaming front, but CoK is in the calendar as next big event.
Been good so far as in only doing one new army(!, but have just got Baron’s War tules and have a few boxes of knights to play with!

My undead are coming along. All primed and the wraiths, wights and deathpack are done. At this rate I might be able to take Undead to a 1995 in July.
I’ll get another box photo when the movement trays are ready.
Change of plans for my Vikings.
The theme for the historical tournament next year is Republican Roman (and enemies), so the Vikings will have to wait.
I have Successors, but the paint is worn and I have improved since then, so repainting is required. Plus I have to add a few things. Here’s the "before photo ":
I actually got in a Napoleonic game!
Pretty much up to speed at the moment.
On the “to do” pile-
THE LAST WAR from Atlantic Games… Boxed set still pretty much just sitting there.
And I have a TK Ambush Box and Butcher Fleshripper that should be shipping to me soon.
We’re halfway through the year!
I’m making good speed on my main hobby goal for this year.
I got to 1995 and even added a regiment zombies to improve my list.
The way I’m painting zombies is fairly simple, so I can churn them out. Another 10 will give me a horde (using deathpack as filler.
Here’s the overall progress, but I’m going to take a break and work on my historical army for a bit.
Which means I already have the undead to give Deth Wizards a go, and can choose a scenario that I have heroes for.
I’d like to paint some more good guys though.
If i could pull myself together i would be able to finish my basileans within a week.
But i build almost all of my Halflings ![]()
We’re in the 4th quater! How is everyone getting along?
Hopefully toward the end stretch.
My undead are coming along.
I’m almost done with the last batch of zombies, leaving the 50 skeletons, 2 heroes and conversion bases for 4th. Which is enough for a 2300 point list and odds are good to have everything painted by the end of the year.
My Seleucid list is also ready, but it turns out that I will not be able to attend the tournament.
I have been delayed somewhat by a house move. We weren’t expecting to sell our house and move but somewhere came up and it (rather fortuitously) happened very quickly. However, what with clearing stuff out to have viewings and then try and do all the mountains of admin for moving (along with a busy time at work) I have done a whole lot of nada.
Having said this… I haven’t updated since the event I ran for firefight, which was a big success! 10 people turned up (including three under 18s, which was great!). Lots of fun had by all, with the dastardly plague taking top spot, followed by Mazon labs then Asterians.

I don’t have access to any decent photos unfortunately, but I have had a good response to a follow up at around 1000 points for spring time.
That’s good news! Well done.
I happen to have 1000 points of Asterians that will be on the list for painting next year/after the undead.
I’m moving too! Going to British Columbia.
Apartments, so a bit easier than a house.
Ang tips for packing minis?
A - err, nope! There is a New Year, New Invasion slowgrow/painting challenge Kay is running over on Discord and I’m going to do the AD for that!.
B - yes! Well, almost. Have thuul, some big frogs and gw Lizardmen as placoderms to finish - and obviously now rebase the individuals - but did get 2.5-3k finished.
C - yep. The sprawling KoM/Brothermark/etc go more rubbish infantry, polearms, shieldwall and a few other bits and pieces. Ended up using the foot knight for Barons War so painted about 100 models for that.
D - not quite. Have Elites to finish.
E - have successfully avoided buying anything for Deadzone (yet!).
F - real life and poor health got in the way of events. There’s a local (Bristol, uk) one early Jan which will kick things off next year.
Will have a bit of a clear out post 4th dropping, as have a couple of armies I didn’t use throughout 3rd ed that are just taking up space.
No tips whatsoever unfortunately. Mine live in carboard boxes that I have carefully moved to my inlaws garage. I will then carefully move them to the new house on our move day. This only works as we are moving a short distance and the in-laws are nearby!
Asterians are good fun and my son loved painting his (he did an awesome job too), you definitely need to get to them and start / join the firefight scene in BC!
I’ve decided to use my reduced time and facility for painting to work on some dungeon saga origins (with my son too). I think we now have all the undead there or thereabouts. He uses the zombies in his plague firefight strike force, but all the rest are getting a nice purple trim on the base. I’ll post pictures when we eventually get it all sorted.
My 2025 is more or less done, in terms of KOW.
No plans for new units or factions on the horizon, and in fact I still haven’t gotten around to pre-ordering the new books.
I was thinking of waiting for the companion to update, and potentially ordering soft copy versions down the line.
The above is really as a result of just getting into Halo Flashpoint quite a lot…
Played two games of it yesterday evening, and will probably run another one tonight.
Just really enjoying the straightforwardness of the table size required (kitchen table with mat works), and the requirement for only 6-8 models. Not crazy about all the token usage, but that’s another story.
I have 3 fireteam boxes that I probably should get painted by the end of the year.
That’s 12 models, so in KOW terms its absolutely nothing compared to what I’ve managed in the past… We’ll see.
Finished all the indead from Dungeon Saga Origins. My son and I shared the painting, and approached it as a fun way to do whatever we wanted and not worry too much. Some were done quickly, some more slowly and carefully, some with particular methods others just however we fancied! Quite nice way to go about it.
My son is hammering through the Abyssal dwarves at a hell of a rate, and I have already done most of the goblins for use in my KoW (as a regiment of rabble). Still got many of the Twiglets to do though, as well as finishing off the heroes.
Those undead ard looking good.
How’d you do the zombie skin?
Done! I won the tournament to boot.
I still havd the skeletons to go. I hope to get them (and the whole collection so far) done this year.
Not sure I will though, I’m in the midst of a long distance move to start a new job.
I have countless miniatures and armies waiting to be painted or assembled.
Currently, however, there is this paralyzing void between editions, and I have no information about dwarves and elves, for example.
But my goal is to get at least one army ready to play (painting is not mandatory for me). Means gluing them together and on multibases.
And maybe paint an army (to completion) – Salamanders or Undead.
Sounds like we’re in need of a 2026 New Years Resolutions thread!
In the absence of that, however, my 2025 resolution was to…
I made a bit of progress with Dungeon Saga (painting half the goblins) and the Warpath models arrived too late for me to manage more partial assembly. The Forge Dads, however…
…That was a success at least. ![]()
Well done with the Forge Fathers!
I have Asterians on the docket for next year.
