One unit can umbrella Aura (Spellward) now from a 20pt artefact - might be worth the points if that’s what they die to?
The Wiltfather as an ally is no longer a thing due to the no unique or limited upgrades under new army composition rules, right?
Along with the Boomstick going down to only adding 2 … yeah. Maybe! I’m definitely considering it, it’d fit the Aura pile of Sylvan Kin, and Stealthy just doesn’t do enough haha. I do like the Sylvan Kin Formation, put an Archwraith with scout boots and TC aura in it, Scout most of my army…
And yes. Wiltfather is now only for Nature and Sylvan Kin. Still need to share a little, but not nearly as much.
Rest In Pepperonis, Allied Wiltdaddy
Empire of Dust player here - I am just rejoicing to see the EoD now gets an amazing cheap surge hero in the revenant champion with surge (5) at 75 pts. Adding in respectable Def 5+ and -/14 AND Inspiring makes him great and fills a much needed gap in the army in my opinion.
Also the other updates make me happy - Rhas recalls the Settra vibe while providing interesting gameplay opportunities in combocharging with a Me 5+ / high attacks unit. That our Chariots got changed is nice as well and the now non-mandatory shooting is a welcome option.
Unfortunately, the bone giant didn’t get Slayer/Rampage as its living counterparts did, however the improvment of the behemoth will hopefully make him a viable option too now.
I would have welcomed the return of the undead scorpion to have a medium sized monster (and I got a gorgeous model for it) but I suppose the Wyrm riders tickle the vancy of the majority just fine (and maybe mine too, lets see)
How do the fellow EoD players see the changes?
It’s really interesting to see the people that play an army’s take on the changes.
I like that we’re starting to see topics springing up to discuss the changes specific to each faction.
@CRo I’d start up an EoD topic so it doesn’t get lost in this one. I thought the Settra-esque rules were a bit tongue in cheek of them!
I do love the additions to KoM too!
Militia would be a great thing if I had unlocks to spare, but as it is now they remain stored. BUT, having a regiment @65 points is really a steal and I can imagine fitting one or two in many armies!
The monarch is exactly what the army needed! A cheap titan which hits good enough and can buff nearby units! The idea of a non-flying kinglet supporting beserkers OR a flying queen supported by 16/18 regiments of knights is really great!
The beast cav is a great addition too. I could take them for cheap @210 points for a horde or choose any of the two upgrades. The pegasi aren’t the first that come to mind, I probably will field them as war elephants @230.
Formation, I’m not sure. Might test it out one or two times, but it’s got that meh feel to me. Other updates are okay I guess, but I don;t think these will see play a lot.
This is my case too. I’m really happy to see this and I love being able to field my guys as whatever human faction I desire. Getting them all out at the same time requires a massive battle, but maybe in the future we can do an all-nighter once again.
I just received my copy, flipped through some pages and found this:
It’s pretty hilarious, because ‘Hodenburg’ is german and translates as ‘Testicles castle’.

And I thought GW was bad with made-up german names!
So, if you need some inspiration for your new halfling or Rhordia army, how about a testicle-themed list!

To be fair, lots of words in 'proper ’ languages end up being something rude or stupid when translated into another one!
‘Balls’ is a valid option since the whole word itself doesn’t exist in German.
Also, have you seen some of the stupid place names we have in England!! - B*llocks Castle is really quite low down on the list of rude ones
There is a town called ‘Hodenhagen’ just a few kilometers away, actually.
Wow, apparently those Halflings got b… erhm, nah, not gonna say it!
there is also a town called Hodenberg in Germany, a castle namend Hodenburg and “von Hodenburg” a family name
this is not just something made up (although “testicle mountain” aka Hodenberg might have been funnier)
I‘ve got the digital version of the book and I was wondering if the nerve value for berserkers is correct. Easy Army and other sources claim it should be 15/18 and not 14
Could someone tell what the printed version says?
Printed version indeed says -/15 for the Troop. At least the copy i ve got laying around here does.
I believe the digital version is correct, infantry should always have a 4-point spread in nerve, but it’ll be in the upcoming errata.
Have there been semi-official rulings on fb or elsewhere? I guess the digital version is the most up-to-date. Not having the right prices for things in the physical book and EA is not particularly helpful.
The .pdf is being updated, the book went to print with mistakes in it. Errata is being worked on. EasyArmy is still being run by one guy who probably just got the book so… Yup!
I went to Kindergarten in “Eichelhart” after it moved there from “Busenhausen” - not joking!
But on topic - do I need this book to start playing or is it just nice to have and something to get later on?
