Cheers.

The NS stuff really suits my painting style, so these guys seem to come together pretty well.

Looking to finish off various projects before tackling the AD for a slow grow painting thing in the new year, so dug out the remaining TK bits.

This mainly consisted of corsairs - which I’ve basically been putting off since right at the beginning, as the sculpts annoy me a touch and don’t really suit my paint style - and a bunch of models to use as Impalers (mantic ones and some Para Bellum Conquest Spire clones).

These are, size-wise, about halfway between the corsairs and Impalers and share various stylistic bits that can tie them together with the big I’s (masks, bone style weapons, flesh like shields). There is a chunk in the background about how the Impalers are created and my take on the Conquest models is them being released, not fully formed, in times of war (like the whole of the east invading and being p*ssed at magic users!).

[Note that from a v4 perspective it is probably going to be hard to get most of these on the table - as from rumours Impalers aren’t going to be core and sounds like TK core might be quite limited]

I’d also converted some NA half elf berserkers with leftover TK bits - so these can be voidwalkers and easily distinguished from the fleetwardens.

The Dark Conclave was not content with the transitory manifestations of Nightstalkers, however. The tablets also related how the very essence of the Void could be drawn off and infused into mortal flesh. By these foul practices, the thaumaturges developed the practice of ‘blood-shaping’.

Embarking the subjects of their experiments in the holds of Nightships as they voyaged into the Void, the flesh-changers would use obsidian needles to draw off the very mists of the dimensional tides and inject them into their subjects. The consequent agonies caused most of their victims to die, but those who endured provided the Twilight Kin with some of their deadliest warriors.

The malignant Impalers were a product of these experiments, elven warriors, both male and female, locked inside baroque suits of armour. Like the spikes of an iron maiden, the interior of the armourwas festooned with obsidian needles, infusing the warrior with the essence of the Void while the design of the armour itself drew entities to infest it. More females seemingly survived the process, but as a result, the selected elves were transformed, fused to their armour in a perfect symbiosis with the entity inhabiting it. The Impalers would grow in size and strength, towering over other elves and wielding weaponry impossible for a normal elf to lift, much less swing.
