Mine come from https://ironheartartisans.com/ (thinner, leader point marked, little more expensive) and https://tectoniccraftstudios.com/ (thicker, very simple, very cheap) [USA]

It would be helpful to post the Country of the supplier as shipping could be expensive and there are KoW players all over the World. USA here.

Gotta mention warbases.co.uk for those UK and Europe based players!

The best source in Canada is Northern Lights Terrain, they make mdf bases and various terrain. The bases are the best price I’ve been able to find.

I bought a 4’x8’ sheet of hardboard at the hardware store and have been cutting my own bases in the garage with a miter saw. A table saw would be way easier but it gets the job done. So I basically have enough material for several armies for less than $10. Buying them online is too expensive for me but temptingly convenient.

Ironheart Artisans https://ironheartartisans.com/ sends a LOT of prize support to US tourneys and that makes the extra cost MORE than reasonable.

Warbases.co.uk for me, everytime. I also grab various other bits from there, such as cheap warmachines, acrylic tokens and buildings

Warbases UK all the way for bases and tokens.
They have some really nice stuff at great prices, they’re doing a modular dungeon too now which I’ll grab for Vanguard/RPG some day.
Their modular building might not be much to look at at first but they’re basically a substructure, go to town on them.

We could use a Pin for hobby tips and tricks. Maybe a Mod can make a pin. I dont know if it’s an Ad conflict. Maybe this helpful neutral collection might be acceptable for people across the world.

I often try to make Wiki posts. When the post is a Wiki (green edit symbol) all users can edit and add to the content. But most users dont seem to understand how that works and post normal replies anyway so I have reverted most of my wiki posts back to normal posts.

I agree that buying your own mdf and either cutting it yourself, or getting to your local makerspace to borrow some time on their lasercutter, is the most cost effective option. Timewise it is a different question though.

I’m not sure if that is allowed, but I am getting started with making some bases and trays here in Berlin, Germany, since I have a lasercutter. I have no shop yet, but if you’re around and need something made in MDF, I can probably help you out!
I have made various designs for my own use (eg bases, trays, tokens, accessories…), then for my local gaming group, and now am considering selling these to a wider audience. I am actually trying to figure out how to open a small online shop these days.

As an example of what I made for my own army: a PMC tray!

Here a legion PMC tray, showing off one key aspect: the bottom is steel, and there are magnets in each individual bases:

Another fun fact: the tray themselves are magnetic, for storage and transportation. I happen to also make larger storage trays and boxes that fit in my usual transport cases (feldherr), and IKEA shelves:

I get mine from Roman in Spain.

£2.50 for worldwide p&p no matter how big the order. Not too shabby.

I cut my own too. I have big hands so the really thin mdf isn’t very ergonomic for me. I use 3/16 plywood. You will need to sand the edges too. I then spray them with black paint/primer to seal them. It works for me
