No pictures here, just a true story from this morning
After dropping another tiny miniature part that i was working on… (for the sixth or seventh time this morning,) I threatened “You’d better pack this in, or heads will roll!”
My wife overheard and asked, “Are you alright?”
Grabbing the torch i kept near to hand for this very reason, I got on my hands and knees and crawled under the table, looking for the two heads and one shield that I’d dropped within the last ten minutes under my ‘hobby’ table.
. “Don’t lose your head over it!” was her quick responce…

Some friends of mine have been putting a lot of work into growing our local scene here in Vancouver, BC. They’ve organized an Ambush League that’ll take place over the next few months.
I was planning on finishing this small Rift Forged Orcs force and unveiling it all at once but I get more enjoyment out of sharing my progress through the process.

115 pts down, 885 to go with this troop of Morax!

Thanks! Skorne Praetorians from Warmachine/Hordes actually! I played Skorne in Warmachine before KoW but I can’t ever see myself going back. I hate having models sitting in boxes so I’ve been looking hard for a solid role for them in Kings.
I’ve made some into Vampires/Soul Reavers as well.

Skorne as Riftforged is great! I’ve never thought of that. I played Skorne in Warmahordes and have a massive stockpile of NIB Skorne to build One Last Army to use as Basileans or Twilight Kin or Kingdoms of Men - I can’t decide but combined arms is the goal and Skorne infantry with some beast friends is the flavor.

Anyway, Praetorians here look good, thanks for giving me another list to go play counts as with

Sounds awesome! I’m biased, but the Twilight Kin option sounds great. Cyclops’ would make good Butchers and Skorne have that nice Twilight Kin blend of fancy, martial, and evil.

Well said  I probably won’t really get started until the new TK rules appear, but ultimately this is a labor of love so rules matter a lot less, apart from capturing that Skorne vibe.

Oh yeah that’s probably smart. I forgot about the TK rework. I definitely appreciate the labour of love. That’s why I’ve got about 5000 points of Sylvan Kin:p

Great plans of Mice and Me(n)

Just when I thought it was finished and was putting it away next to my other Celtic Fanatics units, I spotted a problem. It was the correct depth for KoW Heavy Infantry, but not wide enough. It needed an additional 25mm, so I’m building the extension

I was going crazy painting 30 Hunters of the wild so I decided to take a break.

Last year I learnt a bunch of new techniques as I seriously got back into painting again. This year I hadn’t really tried anything new yet technique wise, and it was getting to me. So, this weekend I decided to finally attempt nmm.

I am happy with my attempt at this challenging technique. I think I’ll reserve it for magic armour, might try gold or red next time on a KoW project.

I managed to finish a horde of goblins… another one!
With the new red book in my hands, I built my 2023 army and I need to paint a few more units, I think.

Rabble hordes are done, though. First thing now: a regiment of luggits and two regiments of fleabags!

@Vince , your Smurf Goblins are looking well. With Rabble, you really need Hordes, or even Legions to make them an impact hitter and bog down whatever is facing them in close combat. Needless to say, someone Inspiring nearby and a spell or magic item to buff them can also be helpful. I love the Fleabags and they can pack a good punch, as can the Luggits. Great models and nigh impossible to fit a full 20 models on a regiment base, thank heavens for MMC . (I think i ended up with 16, if memory serves me well.)
Have you considered the new Formations?

Knocked out the 2nd Werewolf Regiment. Two units in 2 weeks is definitely a change of pace from my Elves … where it was one single Drakon or Treeherder in 4-6 weeks mostly, even more in case of the Herder.

With this Regiment complete I’ve got a solid core for an Undead Ambush force and can even reach 1000pts. already if I load up with items. (But already working on a Wraith troop for a more sensible list.)
