Thanks @Nav ! I’m happy with how the head and main body is coming along so far, bit still scared of the wings!

They are an entirely different kind of challenge than my Drakons with such huge smooth spaces and i’m not sure yet that i ll get them to look how I want … but i ll try! :slightly_smiling_face:

And wow @Sceleris, you ve been busy!!! Really busy!!!

skin type wings can be challenging. The limited experience i have is when i did my Ice dragon, i rebuilt the wings from an undead one, using nomorenails to fill in the damage and extend the wingspan. I opted for darker tones nearer the edges of each segment, and lighter tones where the skin is ‘stretched more.’ which took a bit of blending.

Very inspiring, @FredOslow ! So much in fact, that I just bought another 10 RevCav dirt cheap from Ebay to build a horde myself!

I guess I’d dreamed of painting some of the classic Mantic undead heroes for quite some years now…

and just couldn’t help but dick around with UV paints again.

My take on Groany Snark

As with the rest of my Celt/Roman armies, these Victrix Gallic Cavalry are flexible formation to be a regiment in KoW, or a 2 deep unit for Hail Ceasar etc. I knew that there were 12 riders and I only needed 10, but hadn’t thought much about it. However, i had a duh! moment when i realized that in pairs as they are, i cannot display a 5 wide regiment formation needed for Kings of War. it’s not a difficult fix though.
I didn’t like the Victrix cavalry shields, and Victrix doesnt include bases or decals, so i’d used some shields i had spare, but i think i will paint the round shields and switch them back as these sheilds don’t have a space for the hand and therefore , are not secure

Been painting belly scales and back spikes … finishing this in December will likely remain a dream -with how quickly the new year approaches - but I’m having fun painting it so far!

Final touches done on my Celtic Cavalry using the Victrix Gallic Cavalry miniatures. I wanted them to be a good vibrant mix of colours

What are you painting for your last 570pts?

I’ve now got 755pts give or take to reach 10k pts this year (depends on if I class the Chroneas as shadowhulks or planar apparitions).

Two hordes of air elementals up next.

That then leaves between 170-290pts. Will probably be a couple of characters or maybe finish painting the snow troll primes.

Well Groany is 100 of them

Just have lots of part built/undercoated militia scattered over the painting area, which won’t really make a dent!

I’ve some part done wizards/heroes and some orc skulks that might just get me over the line

Want to see them updates @Sceleris

Given that i had 12 Gallic Cavalry and I only needed 10 for a KoW regiment, i thought I’d use the other two to scratch build another Celtic chariot. This might initially seem like an odd decision hiven that i had three more Chariots primed on their Sprues and ready to assemble/paint/add decals. I actually found myself asking myself why… but in my defence, this was the best time as i can use the parts i needed to clone available to check the scale.

And it was at this point that I noticed that the bases on my other Chariots was on the wrong side bases
