Thematically I agree with you, mummies fit way better in EoD than in ‘standard’ undead. Unfortunately I love them rules wise and always field them in my undead…
Whats worst is I started a conversion project to create Frankenstein-monster inspired dudes from zombies to use as zombies (I feel it fits better thematically).
So really hope they don’t go away (can still ally them in I guess, and make a mad-scientist to use as a priest. but they will have no access to magic items and less surge sources, which sucks a bit)

I don’t think any army entries are going to be invalidated but the EOD version is probably going to be better due to the aura unless Undead gets the aura too. Revenant cav has been hinted at (in hordes too). I’m happy so far with all the reveals. One of the main things bugging Ronnie was the chariot + dragon armies and it seems chariots in all armies will have a different role now. Giving them steady aim is a good way to balance them despite less attacks.
They released skeleton crossbows as part of the undead vanguard wave and u probably need to buy a lot of blisters but they look good indeed.

Yeah, that s not quite going to work for anyone. Nobody is buying 8-10+ Vanguard packs for one unit of Skeleton crossbows.
Maybe if they package them in units.

You mean you don’t want to spend buckets of money to make a single unit of mono-pose minis? LoL
They’ll release a box I’m sure. They seem to be doing that for the rest of them. I alluded to it in my sarcasm but my main issue with units coming over from Vanguard is the lack of variety when it comes to poses. For example, most of the Northern Alliance miniatures are fantastic on their own but they look awful ranked up on a base, in my opinion anyway.

It appears that Orcs will get a Mor-Ax champion that has an aura that gives Thunderous charge 1.
I wonder if a Skulk champion is also in the new list.

With regards to the comment about the chariot shooting nerf - before no one took cavalry archers, as chariots were simply better, this gives the cav a specific role

Hope so, I think cavalry archers are pretty neat but don’t much care for chariots. From a visual standpoint at least. Chariot stats are almost always better.

I took Archer Cav a lot! And I took Chariots too and the archers were my MVP. I guess I like Move and shoot units.
Early game they shoot out the chaff, mid game the support Tactical effort and can combine shooting on a variety of targets within 24". Late game they can get objectives as a regiment and they are threats all game long. at -/16, they need 9 wounds to get them to 7 never test. Neds a heavy cav/big dragon unit to reach them and I wouldnt say its worth their time with right defenses nearby or risking being pinned the rest of the game. Usually if I still have them at the end of the game, I have won.
I’m guessing they will be range 18" in 3rd.
Putting the Brew on them… That’s a great idea! I haven’t used EoD yet, I am just starting to build up some allies for my undead. I think Revenant Worm Riders are awesome.
Worm riders are a lot like an ogre unit. I dont think anyone really noticed if they gave them Sharpness they were pretty good. . But the Enslaved guardians seemed cheaper and had shambling. There isnt a model range for them, so I dont expect them to exactly return. Maybe something like it.
Hopefully… I spent a silly amount of money buying the models to kitbash two Hordes together the week before 3rd Ed was announced. I will at least get to use them once at an upcoming tournament next month.
