Trident Realms in 4th

I’d always pick javelins so that does suggest the points are off.

That being said, it’s a helluva points increase. Maybe Def could drop as well as the Crushing and it costs a bit less?

Also, I have acquired some minis (2xReg) based on the rules/points as I thought they were.

Speed 5 on the Tidal Swarms is also annoying as a lot of the infantry it will shield is Speed 6.

Speed 6 in the Companion update.

I couldn’t find this doc on their website or in the pack. Assuming it was released on Facebook?

Their ruling on the Tidal Swarm could be a best guess at the time.

Very curious where they got the info on the additional cost of the javelin options. Seems like this must have come from someone involved with KoW at Mantic.

Was the javelin option not put through the ‘algorithm’?

I’m guessing when you do put it through, they come out as expensive due to the Speed, skills and average combat stats on top of the shooting.

A solution might be to give up on the mixed profile and create a separate shooting one with lower Def, Me values etc.

I probably wouldn’t field them (or bother to build them) under these adjustments - expensive for 12" shots. Annoying as I’ve bought two regiments. I do think this is pretty sloppy from Mantic.

It was from the Australian Clash event, which I understand was based on a draft of the (as yet unreleased) official mantic errata. This extract was on a FB Fanatics post.

I agree with all your points. It’s very frustrating to have these issues. I’ve already overwritten the tidal swarm stats in my book using the updated vault stats - it will be very frustrating if I have to cross the pen marks out!

There’s a big list on this site and it is the flagship game, if rather hoped things would get sorted quicker. I appreciate it’s a very busy period and that there are limited staff etc, but the whole point of the companion is sure so that these things get sorted quickly and as a priority.

For most of us (like me) it doesn’t really matter too much if it takes a week or two longer, but it’s not a good look and newer players like yourself who are buying new armies want to know the stats are right before purchase. Especially on the invasion armies that really should have been the biggest priority to get right.

Copy editing seems to have been an issue for a while, which is a shame. On the plus side, I am very confident mantic will sort it out and do so fairly. As I have been saying to folk, give v4 a few months to go through teething, even if there’s more teething than perhaps there should be.

Do you have any more information about an update? I can’t find any information about it in the Companion.

Is there a change log?

My understanding that the shooting option was missed when calculating things - so confirmed as an error, rather than a conscious decision to subsequenly nerf the unit.

@Sam_Urai there will be an official errata in due course. Previously the Companion had an errata and a separate change log, the latter giving a brief overview of what’s be amended rules wise.

Turns out he had a 480pt advantage…

No, Mantic failed here.

It’s not his fault.

He just knew how to play the game.

Wrong points in the companion?

The Javelin upgrade doesn’t cost any points neither in the books nor the companion.

It’s unfortunate that the current algorithm puts those units in such a ridiculous spot. Functionally it essentially removes those units from the game. Treeleapers and Twilight Kin Wrangler regiments being 200+ pts feels pretty crazy.

A few Clash updates ago, those units were considerably more expensive than the versions that we saw at the end of 3rd. They got price drops because no one took them when they paid such a premium for their whole package. They sat on the shelf. At least the new Frogs have the option to go Javelin-less so they will still see the table.

£55 for a regiment of Thuul seems steep. As a choice, they got hammered by not having a plastic kit. V expensive and in Speciaist.

Is it the case, that Mantic is still not big enough to properly support a release? I guess they thought they’d make more selling dogs.

3d print available and they’ll been rolling out the PoD stuff in due course.

There are plenty of non plastic units that are similarly positioned price wise, but many without a digital option.

In this case it is a choice to keep them in Resin and focus on models that were still in PVC/Metal

But also a players choice on how to use those 10 models as making a Regiment from that box is possible as well

The better option would be add an 11th model and a larger base and sell it as regiment

Looking at the models which consist of the body and a head only, it is about time for them to be part of the vault.

When I click on the green download button, nothing happens.

About a month ago we looked at this and I could buy them from Big Jim in Bristol for, I think, £45.
